How To Maximize The Benefits Of Dermal Fillers

If you’re new to the world of dermal fillers, it’s an exciting time as products have come online that effectively tackle aging skin from several different angles. This world can also be confusing, leaving you to wonder where to start.

Here at Brickell Cosmetic Center, we want our Miami area patients to understand what cosmetic injectables, namely dermal fillers, can do to help turn back the clock. To help you choose the best dermal fillers, and get the most out of them, here’s a look at how you can maximize the benefits of the dermal fillers we offer.

The down low

Cosmetic injectables tackle aging from two different angles. Neuromodulators relax the muscles responsible for creating wrinkles on the top half of your face around your eyes, brows, and forehead. Dermal fillers work to fill in the deeper folds and lines on the bottom half of your face (around your nose and mouth), and they restore volume to your cheeks and lips.

A filler for every job

We offer several different types of dermal fillers that are designed to tackle specific areas. For example, our Juvéderm® line of dermal fillers contains hyaluronic acid, a substance that’s naturally found in your body, namely your joints. When we inject the hyaluronic acid under your skin, it adds volume to the area because the acid retains water, effectively plumping up the tissue below the surface of your skin to erase lines, fill in folds, and add volume to thinning lips. Juvéderm fillers generally last anywhere from 6-12 months.

The Juvéderm VOLUMA XC is slightly different, however. We use this filler to fill in your sunken cheeks, and it lasts from one to two years, giving you a fresh-faced look that lasts.

Our Restylane® line of dermal fillers also relies on hyaluronic acid to restore volume to your face. This product is highly effective against the nasolabial folds around your mouth and the vertical lines that surround your lips. In addition, Restylane restores volume to sagging cheeks and aging lips.

Not stopping there, Restylane is the only hyaluronic acid approved for your hands. Though dermal fillers do a great job of restoring youth and vitality to your face, your hands can betray your most ardent anti-aging efforts. With Restylane, we can make your hands look years younger by adding a little volume to the deepening hollows in between your bones.

Rounding out our dermal fillers is Sculptra Aesthetic®, which contains poly-L-lactic acid, a substance that not only restores volume but encourages collagen production for long-lasting results. With Sculptra, we administer a series of three injections over the course of several months and then let your body’s own resources take over with ramped-up collagen production, giving your skin elasticity and tone. Since Sculptra uses natural resources, your results generally last up to two years.

Choosing the right combo

If you’re still confused about which dermal filler is right for you, that’s where our team of expert estheticians comes in. During your initial consultation, we sit down with you to review the areas you want to treat and go over what your goals are. Once we get a clear picture of what you want to accomplish, we design a treatment plan that will deliver the best results. Often, we use different dermal fillers for different areas for maximum effect, which is why we offer such a variety. Rest assured, we work with you to achieve your goals, and we can start conservatively at first to see whether you like the results.

If you’d like to get started on your anti-aging regimen using minimally invasive dermal fillers, please give us a call, or use the online scheduling tool on this website to book a consultation.
