Life’s roadmap

Before we get into how we can help turn back the years with Clear + Brilliant, it might be helpful to step back and take a look at what’s happening to your skin as you age. First, the human skin covers an amazing 21 square feet on average, making it the largest organ in the human body, or in this case, on the human body. This all-important organ is what separates and protects you from the outside world, including exposure to the elements, as well as harmful bacteria.

In this role, your skin undergoes a considerable amount of abuse as it absorbs the sun’s ultraviolet rays, fields harmful bacteria (think acne), and often accumulates nicks and cuts along the way. The end result is that your skin begins to break down, unable to keep up with the damage.

Add to this the fact that, as you age, you naturally lose collagen and elastin, the two proteins largely responsible for the elasticity and tone in your skin. This leads to wrinkles and fine lines and also allows the thin layer of fat under the surface of your skin to migrate downward, leaving hollows where you once had plump features.

Lastly, as you age, your melanin, which is responsible for the color in your skin, can begin to clump together, forming brown spots that mottle the surface, especially in exposed areas like your face, neck, and chest.

With our Clear + Brilliant system, we use fractional laser technology to create millions of microscopic treatment zones across your skin, without harming the surface area. Your skin absorbs the fractional energy, which elicits a mild healing response in your tissue below and leading this response is renewed collagen and elastin production, as well as new skin cells.

As your body clears away your damaged skin cells, it replaces them with newer, healthier cells and then shores up the work with collagen and elastin, restoring elasticity and tone to your skin. This means that in just a few treatments, we can reduce the appearance of brown spots, wrinkles, fine lines, and even help close up large pores.

Our Clear + Brilliant laser system also includes a special option called the Permea handpiece. With this tool, we can deliver less laser energy into your skin to address complexion issues that are more surface problems, like hyperpigmentation. After your treatment, we apply special nourishing creams to your skin that hydrate your skin, leaving it glowing and more even.

The process

When you come in for your consultation, we sit down with you to review your problem areas and your goals, and then we design a treatment plan. Most of our clients undergo four to six treatments spaced several weeks apart. Each treatment lasts about 15-20 minutes, and afterward, you’re free to get on with your day.

Your results will be gradual as you make your way through the series, with optimal results a few weeks after your final visit.
