What is Acne and Rosacea?
Acne and rosacea are two fairly common skin conditions people in the United States experience. While acne mostly impacts teens and young adults, rosacea is more common among middle-aged women who have fair skin. Both can be linked to genetics, and those with rosacea are actually more susceptible to having acne at some point in their life. Acne is most commonly a mixture of pimples, whiteheads, blackheads, cysts, and other red and swollen areas of the skin, whereas rosacea is mostly known as a red face but can also include swollen bumps on the skin similar to acne. Both of these conditions can be managed and controlled with the help of dermatologist Dr. Lauren Dozier. At Brickell Cosmetic Center, we can help you treat and manage your acne or rosacea, as well as minimize acne scarring so you can have a face that is beautiful, smooth, and has an even complexion.
Acne, Rosacea, and Scarring Reviews
"been going here for 2(almost 3) years. their services are no joke, they wont lie to you. they wont do extra services if they dont believe in them, even if it would make them more money. if you think you need one service, they will scan u and show u in real time why u dont need that cause something else is the root cause and what youre seeing is the leaves of a deep root. they undid 10 years of hormonal acne damage to my face. i dont have the dark spots or the chunks of missing skin from those hard, painful pimples that i used to have and its because of these genius, gorgeous women in this med spa that have made my skin feel timeless and look the part without any injection ever, just deep facials.. i respect the hell out of this place and will always come back as long as i live here in miami. julie is a favorite cause she is so incredibly knowledgable of everything and tells what you would benefit the most from. the front desk girls are so well informed as well. Dr Dozier helped me figure out skin problems ive had for over a decade and solved it all in 1 derma visit. She is brilliant and she listens, she found a skin fungus that i never noticed. i saw a huge skin improvement after going on meds of getting rid of that fungus. do i really need to go on? this place is amazing, just come in."- T.R. / Yelp / May 22, 2021

How are Acne and Rosacea Diagnosed and Treated?
Puberty, pregnancy, menopause, and other hormonal changes are often the cause of acne. Certain medications, like birth control, as well as a poor diet and anxiety, can also lead to acne breakouts. If you have or have had severe acne, you are more likely to experience acne scarring. Typically, these scars look bumpy and dented and give off an irregular appearance on the skin, even after the acne has faded. A number of things can lead to acne scarring, including genetics, lack of treatment, and picking or touching your acne. Like acne, environmental and genetic factors are known to be what causes rosacea. Rosacea flare-ups can be caused by spicy foods, alcohol, hot drinks, sun exposure, hot temperatures, anxiety and embarrassment, overexertion, and certain medications.
Dr. Dozier can diagnose the exact cause of your skin condition to help treat your acne or rosacea. Some common options we may consider are prescription topical creams, antibiotics, laser treatments, or something else. In some cases, a combination of treatments could provide ideal results.
